Super One Series – Senior X30, Rowrah, Cumbria, Rd.2
April 22nd/23rd

Last trip to Rowrah for round 2 and looking forward to a dry meeting, hopefully! Testing on Friday went well and Will was always up with the fastest when on similar rubber. Saturday morning practice went the same as Friday with Will very quick in the only session before qualifying. However, qualifying didn’t go well for Will and he ended up in 32nd place overall and half a second off the pace. With nothing wrong with the kart we were left scratching our heads wondering where the speed had gone. Two difficult heats followed for Will with 16th and 14th place finishes leaving him to start the first Final in 28th position.

During Sunday morning practice Will was back on the pace, this was using our own tyres and confirmed our thoughts from Saturday; we had an inferior set of race tyres in parc ferme. The Finals were going to be very difficult races for Will, with an uncompetitive kart, progress was near impossible. In final one Will struggled to make headway and finished 26th on the road which was later amended due to a nosecone penalty leaving Will in 31st place.

In the second final Will fell to the back of the field early on, but managed to recover to 22nd place by the flag, leaving him a very frustrated and disappointed driver. Senior X30 is the toughest and most competitive Championship in the UK this year and it’s very disappointing that your whole meeting can be ruined by an inferior set of tyres. To his credit Will tried his hardest in all the races and team Tooley also did all they could to improve the kart. As always, we are thankful for the support of the team in good times and hard times and all our support network.
